The Quiet Centre

Come and find the quiet centre,
in the crowded life we lead,
find the room for hope to enter,
find the frame where we are freed:
clear the chaos and the clutter,
clear our eyes that we can see
all the things that really matter,
be at peace, and simply be.

Shirley Murray

I will be away a good part of next week finding the "quiet centre." For years I have been heading off on silent retreat for a few days or a week at a time, whenever its possible. The Anishnabe Jesuit centre in Northern Ontario, Taize in France, Walburga Abbey in Colorado, the Cistercian Monastery in New Brunswick.

It's good to clear the clutter in the midst of men and women dedicated to prayer.

This time it's closer to home -- Manresa in Pickering. Check out the website.

Silence IS golden...golden!
With prayer we forge a chain, a chain of gold that binds us to the feet of God. Let's all keep rattling that chain, and link together in the harmonic silence found at the quiet centre.

Your thoughtful postings both challenge and inspire. Thankyou.
